How to Get There
We hope by now you are committed to a holiday in Bansko staying in one of our two apartments and just need to know how to get there.
The low-cost airlines are now flying to Bulgaria which has four International Airports. The nearest for Bansko is Sofia. It is approximately
a   three hour flight from the UK. You can , of course, Google flights to Sofia but here is a list of some airlines and companies that can be used:
n easyJet
n Wizzair
n Opodo
n British Airways
n Hemus Air
n Cheap Flights
n LastMinute
Getting from Sofia to Bansko is simple.

In the summer I would recommend hiring a car at the airport. The drive to Bansko will take you about 2½ hours. There is a very good road now and it is an easy and pleasant drive. You can, alternatively, book a transfer, take a bus or a taxi and hire a car for a few days when in Bansko. The Car Hire Companies usually supply you with a road-map and it is well signposted.

In the winter, if skiing is your main aim, then a transfer, taxi or bus is probably best.

If driving in Bulgaria you may use your National Drivers License but this must comply with international standards. For more information on driving in Bulgaria click  HERE . Desks for many of the hire companies will be found at the airport and links to their websites are listed below.
Visas are not required for EU citizens as long as your stay is for less than 90 days, but you must have a valid passport. For citizens of other countries please click HERE  to check requirements.
I can book you a transfer at the time of booking via our management company, and give you their tariffs when you contact us. Alternatively you can search around to check prices and take the most competative. See list of companies above or use a search engine for more options.

If you fancy taking a taxi it is best to use Sofia Airport Taxis. There are private companies but these are generally more expensive. Whatever you do DON'T accept the first fare they give you. The name of the game is NEGOTIATE! All in all probably not the best option.

Buses to Bansko are definitely the cheapest option. You would have to take a taxi or a bus from the airport to the Central Bus Station in Sofia and pick up a bus to Bansko there. The web-site will give you times and fares. Once in Bansko a taxi to the chalet would be the best. It is about a 20 minute walk, not much fun with luggage.
